PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Developed City Council District 4 candidate forum on behalf of the residents and neighborhood associations within District 4.
- Organized monthly meetings in order to spread awareness of District 4 City Council elections; the first election in history that Austin voters would be electing a City Council member to represent their district.
- Community outreach email list, via www.austindistrict4.org (site is no longer active) and https://www.facebook.com/AustinDistrict4/.
- Invited each city council candidate to attend at the forum, and continued to coordinate via reminders and updates.
- Created bilingual event fliers.
- Fundraised for costs related to District 4 City Council candidate forum (i.e. interpreter service, fliers, yard signs, equipment rental).
- Surveyed residents of District 4 for candidate forum questions.
- Organized multiple volunteer work sessions to narrow down and edit final candidate forum questions.
- Recruited candidate forum volunteers for moderator, timekeeper, sound monitoring, videographer, greeters, etc.
- Hired interpreter service for candidate forum.
- Issued press release for candidate forum.
- Communicated survey results and candidate forum questionnaire of the district to media, and other district candidate forum hosts. Set goal to keep media and candidate focus on the surveyed issues of the district.
- Local report in regard to District 4 community outreach: District Citizens Doing Due Diligence.
